1 billion 971 million 828 thousand 568 years ago, the Bhagavad Gita was spoken by Lord Vishnu to Vivasan, the sun God, who taught it to his son Manu, and King Manu in turn taught it to Ikshavaku. The great sages received this wisdom but it was lost with the passage of time. The Lord later reinitiated the Gita to Arjuna in the battlefields of Kurukhethra 5140 years ago.
